Vicki Laliberte releases science fiction novel for children

Vicki Laliberte invites the public to the premiere of her science fiction children’s novel on Saturday, September 16 at 2 p.m. at Pierre Prince Auditorium in Princeville.

For the occasion, the author has invited Miakim Laureux from Victoriaville who will host medieval minigames that will introduce young people to the foam sword fighting techniques of life-size role-playing games.

“I came up with the idea to include these animations at the launch of my book because my family is primarily big fans of life-size role-playing games and because you can make a certain connection to my medieval story.”

“The Poachers” is also the title of the first volume of this new series “The Elf Chronicles” aimed at, among other things, children from 9 to 12 years old. “This book is a mixture of science fiction and fantasy. There is everything that children love: robots, video games, alien spaceships and at the same time Ninja Warrior courses, magical and cute creatures without forgetting heroism with soldiers,” says the 30-year-old author and mother For 4 children from 4 to 4.11 years old.

“The great thing about delving into science fiction is that there are no limits. It gave me so much freedom to create a fantasy world that kids would enjoy discovering,” adds the Victoriaville novelist, who now lives in Princeville.

The story in his novel takes place on a planet still in the Middle Ages. Its main characters, Livia and her brother Jensen, are children of the emperor who rules the intergalactic elven empire. A visit to the forest, when they are captured by poachers, will completely change their lives. Then begins a chain of events marked by many twists and turns.

The volume is 200 pages long. The author says that she drew her inspiration from the many novels she wrote when she was between 11 and 14 years old. “Of course the story has evolved and I have added my new ideas to it. I am also a fan of the series of fantasy adventure books by Amos Daragon. My novel is somewhat part of this category in the heroic.”

La Princevloise announces that there will be a sequel, definitely a second and then a third and even a fourth volume of this series “The Elf Chronicles”.

But not necessarily at the moment as she is currently writing a novel for adults that will be released in 2024.

In addition to being a stay-at-home mom, Vicki is pursuing a certificate in the Professional Editing Program at Université Laval.

Finally, those who wish to purchase his new novel will be able to do so directly from Amazon for $15.
