A box of hockey cards that could contain about two dozen Wayne Gretzky rookie cards was found in Saskatchewan and you'll have to pay a lot of money to get it.
This O-Pee-Chee box of cards from the 1979-1980 season was in the possession of a Regina family, the season in which “The Marvel” made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers.

Two Gretzky cards have been found in good condition so far and were sold in 2020 and 2021 for $1.29 million and $3.75 million respectively. However, this treasure could contain about twenty of these cards.
“Remarkably, our supplier did not know he owned this amazing Holy Grail until a collection of forgotten cardboard boxes was recently discovered at his home in Saskatchewan, where unsold cards from the late 1970s and early 1980s had been gathering dust ever since.” He bought them direct from Wholesaler,” auctioneer Heritage, who was responsible for the sale of the two Gretzky cards, explains on its site.
“No boxes of O-Pee-Chee from 1979 to 1980 have appeared in the 21st century, and it is impossible to imagine ever seeing another.”
In this box we find 16 boxes, each containing 48 packs containing 14 cards. Of the 7,680 cards, it is estimated that about 27 flawless Gretzky cards can be found.
The value of this fund is estimated at $3 million, and offers have poured in from all sides. On Monday evening, $1.125 million was proposed. This auction will end in just over three weeks.
