Cristiano Ronaldo has called the Euro 2020 quarter-final between France and Portugal, believing that this encounter will be a “war” for the Selecao.
After tears, then the euphoria of victory, Cristiano Ronaldo regroups. After the penalty shootout win over Slovenia (0-0, 3-0 in the tabs), the Portuguese striker spoke about the match scheduled for Friday against France in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
Cristiano Ronaldo announced for the first time on Monday evening: “We will have a difficult match against France, the favourites in this competition, with Germany and Spain, and we will wage a war.”
“I've never been afraid to deal with things head-on.”
“The team is doing well, it's been a boost of energy and I will always give my best in this shirt, I will do this all my life, I've been doing it for 20 years,” he said, referring to the difficulties in securing qualification against Slovenia. “I missed the penalty, but I wanted to be the first to score, because you have to take responsibility, I've never been afraid to deal with things head on and I will never give up,” he added.
The match between France and Portugal, or rather Portugal and France officially according to the UEFA schedule, is scheduled for Friday, July 5 at 9 p.m. The Volksparkstadion in Hamburg will be the stage for this poster.
