Before the World Cup quarter-finals, which are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Morocco has the best defense in the tournament, but it is also the worst attack away from England and Portugal, the two teams that most conceded the net.
It’s a bit like a surprise guest in the quarter-finals. After its victory over Spain (0-0, 3 pens), Morocco is preparing to play, Saturday, against Portugal, in the first quarter-final in its history at the World Cup. The presence of the Atlas Lions at this stage of the competition is largely due to the solidity of their defence.
Walid Regragui’s team is considered the best defense in the World Cup finals with only one goal conceded against Canada during the group stage. They are doing better than England, Brazil, Croatia and the Netherlands, who conceded two goals each. If Argentina conceded three goals, then France and Portugal are the worst students in this area with four goals and five goals, respectively.
On the other hand, Morocco does not shine with its attacking proficiency as it has the worst attack out of the eight teams that are still in contention with only four goals. This is three times less than England and Portugal, who have the best attack with 12 achievements each. Arriving in France on the 3rdH Position with nine goals, ahead of the Netherlands (8 goals), Brazil, Argentina (7 goals) and Croatia (5 goals).
