Three teenagers have been found guilty of murdering a 16-year-old with a large zombie knife at a party.
Mickey Roynon, originally from Bristol in the United Kingdom, died from a single stab wound sustained during a birthday party on June 10, 2023, despite the efforts of paramedics to save him.
Mickey's friends and family remember him as a “funny, brave” boy and a “loving and caring soul”, according to the Mirror.
On Thursday, a jury convicted one of the teens of murder, while the other two were found guilty of manslaughter. Since they are all 16 years old, their names cannot be mentioned for legal reasons.
One of Micky's friends, who accompanied him to the party, told the court that he saw Micky after the attack and recalled him emotionally telling him: “I'm going to die.”
About 50 people were at the party when Mickey was stabbed in the park.
He was bleeding profusely from a wound to his neck and collapsed in the hallway of the residence.
The accused fled and got rid of the weapons they had, two of which the police found.
The boy convicted of murder admitted to stabbing Mickey, but said he acted in self-defense.
According to the BBC, Mickey's family broke down in tears when the verdicts were announced.
Witnesses said that about nine or ten boys took out weapons “such as swords and knives.”
Mickey was taking his exams when he was fatally stabbed, and two months later his mother opened his results next to his grave.
